Every spring, Charleston is a bloom with the lovely lavender vine that is Wisteria. The gorgeous flowers are only out for a few weeks, but they smell heavenly and create the most beautiful backdrop. Wisteria is a vine that is hardy and fast growing. It does best climbing up a tree, pergola or fence but can also strangle or crush under its weight.
There are several locations around Charleston to spot this native-Asian plant, but the most popular is none other than the iron bars between 54 and 56 Meeting Street. After missing its magic last year, my husband humored me and let me have some fun in a very amateur photo shoot. I’m wearing a recent Gal Meets Glam Sophia Jumpsuit and J Crew Magnolia earrings gifted by my friend, Christine.
